The call to adventure.

Our story.

Hello, I'm Alfie, the founder and director of Student Travel Tips.

My journey began in 2019 when I moved to Brazil during my year abroad from the University of Bristol, where I was studying Spanish, Portuguese, and Catalan. Overwhelmed and anxious about settling in, I scoured the internet for guidance on long-term accommodation, meeting fellow young people, and navigating the bureaucratic necessities of living in Brazil. However, I found the available resources lacking, leaving me feeling even more unsettled.

Realizing the need for a platform dedicated to supporting, informing, and connecting young people in similar situations, I took matters into my own hands and created Student Travel Tips.

Since then, I've embarked on various adventures, from working with a local family in rural Spain to teaching English in Guatemala and exploring South America. Throughout my journey, I've encountered numerous young people eager to experience life abroad like locals but unsure of where to start. Student Travel Tips aims to fill that gap, offering encouragement and practical assistance for those ready to embark on their own adventures.

Join us and embrace the call to adventure.
